Terms
Plain words, on purpose. Nothing renews, nothing hides in small print.
Last updated 5 October 2026Who we are
Inkbie is made by Peter Klappas (petersindex), in Australia. "We" on this page means Peter. You can reach him at support@inkbie.com.
What Inkbie is
A Mac app. Hold a key, talk, and your words are typed where your cursor is. Voice typing is free and runs entirely on your Mac.
An account is optional. You need one for circles (drops, knocks and files with friends) and for the shop (looks, hats, clothes and eyes for your Inkbie).
Your account
You sign in with Apple. Keep the account to yourself. It works on two Macs at a time, and signing in on a third signs out the Mac that signed in longest ago.
You need to be at least 13, or have a parent's or guardian's OK.
You can delete your account at any time in Settings > Circle > Delete account, or by asking at support@inkbie.com. The privacy page says exactly what goes and what stays.
Buying
Prices are in US dollars. At checkout you may see them in your own currency.
Purchases are sold through Link, Stripe's checkout, which acts as the seller and handles payment, tax and receipts. Link's own terms apply to the payment itself. Your statement shows "LINK.COM*".
Everything is a one-time purchase. Nothing renews and there's no subscription.
- Inkbie ($24) gives your account your own circle, for you and up to five people. The people you invite use it free.
- Looks, hats, clothes and eyes change how your Inkbie looks, to you and to your circle.
What you buy stays on your account for as long as the account exists, on any Mac you sign in on.
Refunds
Within 14 days, all your money back, for any reason. Details on the refunds page.
Using circles fairly
Circles are for people who want to hear from each other. Don't use Inkbie to:
- harass or threaten anyone;
- send anything illegal, or anything you don't have the right to send;
- send malware;
- try to get around the sending limits or into other people's accounts.
The person whose circle it is can take anyone out of it. If an account breaks these rules, we can sign it out and block it from circles. Voice typing on that Mac keeps working.
What you send
Your drops and files are yours. We only carry them to the person you sent them to, and delete them from our server once they arrive. The privacy page has the details.
Updates and changes
Inkbie updates itself, and you choose when an update installs. Features can change over time.
If we ever stop running circles, we'll say so in advance. Voice typing doesn't need our server, so it keeps working on your Mac.
The legal part
Under the Australian Consumer Law, and the consumer laws of other countries, you have rights that can't be excluded. Nothing here takes them away.
Beyond those rights:
- Inkbie is provided as it is.
- We don't promise that every word will be typed perfectly or that it will never go wrong.
- As far as the law allows, our total responsibility to you is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the problem.
These terms are governed by the laws in force in Australia.
If these terms change
The date at the top changes with them. For a change that matters to you, we'll say so in the app or by email before it applies.
